Liverpool Balls: Professor Robbie Savage Forgets To Remember His Predictions For Everton, Spurs And Arsenal
MAKING predictions to deadline is Robbie Savage’s stock in trade. He is football punditry’s highlighted Mystic Meg.
In the May 8th issue of the Daily Mirror, Savage looks back at his foresight:
“Nobody likes a professor of hindsight, but three months ago in this column I warned that the Reds’ title charge would fall just short because they spring too many leaks away from home.”
Can this be the same Prof. Robbie Savage who said Everton would finish the Premie League in 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th positions? That’s Everton who are going to finish in 5th spot, the place he predicted Arsenal would end up, pipped to Champions’ League football by… Spurs:
“With or without Bale, Spurs have not let the grass grow under their feet, spending close to £60m on Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli and Etienne Capoue. AVB has done some quality shopping and there could be a changing of the guard in north London.”
Is this the same Prof. Savage who foresaw that Hull, Crystal Palace and Stoke would be relegated, Liverpool would end up sixth and who told the BBC waaaaay back on April 13th 2014:
“…I have been saying all season why Liverpool will not win it, on Sunday they showed why they can. They are the favourites now”?
We think it might be.
Such are the facts from the Professor of Hindsight.
